About Kamakshi Barley

 

Kamakshi started painting in India. As a teenager she moved to Zambia with her father, a professor of English, where she won third place in a painting competition. The prize: a sketching trip to Luangwa game reserve. At the age of 40, after moving to Indonesia, Kamakshi started painting again and held several exhibitions in Jakarta. Many of her paintings were also done in Egypt, where she lived for seven years. Kamakshi has now returned to Mumbai, India, where she continues to paint.
